DAX and Power BI - Experiences from the Field

Requirements

  • Some knowledge of DAX and Power BI would be helpful.

When you do Power BI and DAX work long enough in the field, you come across some interesting attitudes, projects and requirements. This course is typical of a lot of our courses where it will probably never really be done. We are always encountering new scenarios and situations that you might find interesting or instructional.

As a few examples, do you know we actually had a client that didn’t think Power BI / DAX could handle slowly changing dimensions? We cover that. We had a client that got pretty irate that you couldn’t export more than 30K rows out of a Power BI visual. We cover that. We had a client that once we showed them how Power BI could detect outliers in their data and possibly explain why the outlier occurred, they thought we were the kings of Power BI. Nice of course but we’re really not even close. These are just a few of the scenarios we cover in this course.
